After you have completed the PADI Divemaster you are now ready to be the PADI Assistant Instructor. This course is the 1st portion of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). You could divide the IDC into 2 portion with PADI Assistant Instructor course and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, both course will educate and train instructors with PADI education system.
what can PADI Assistant Instructors do?
- Conduct theory presentations under the supervision of a PADI Instructor
- Evaluate Open Water Diver surface skills under the supervision of a PADI Instructor
- Conduct and teach the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course independently
- Teach Project AWARE Specialty courses
- Conduct PADI Discover Scuba experiences
- Teach Emergency First Response after successful completion of an Emergency First Response Instructor course
what you need?
- A PADI Divemaster or qualifying certification from other dive training organization
- 18 years old and older
- Have 60 logged dives, including night, deep, and navigation dives
- Dived more 6 months (with certification)
